Comments and Conversations

Avery:  Mom, you're really cool at flossing.

Melissa:  You've had enough water for tonight.  You can't have any more.
Carter:  But I won't survive!

Preston:  We're having a Christmas party for our puppies.
Avery:  Yeah, we decorated my little kitchen for it.
Preston:  (aside, whispering to Avery)  Don't tell your puppies about the surprise cake we made for them.

Avery:  Can I have some night-night chocolate?

Preston is funny, too.

I don't want to leave Preston out, just because he hasn't said as many funny things.  He is still funny.  For example, just this morning, he pulled his pants up past his bellybutton and said, "Look Mom, I look like I have grandpa pants."  (I should note that his greatest desire is to be a grandpa when he grows up.)

He and Avery were watching Disney's Movie Time Monday this morning. Our conversation went like this.

"What movie is coming on today?"

"Mickey's Upon a Christmas."

"Is it Once Upon a Christmas or Twice Upon a Christmas?"  (There are both.)

"It's MICKEY'S Once Upon a Christmas."

"So it's Once Upon a Christmas."

"No, it's MICKEY'S Once Upon a Christmas."

"Okay."

And he was right.  It was Mickey's Once Upon a Christmas.  Doesn't the word "upon" look really weird?

Conversation with Carter

"Mom, I can't find my coin with the secret code for Club Penguin."

"What does it look like?"

"I showed it to you yesterday."

"No, you didn't show it to me. You must have shown it to Daddy."

"Did you throw it away?"

"I don't think so. What does it look like?"

"It's a coin for Club Penguin. Did you throw it away?"

"I really don't know because I don't know what it is you're talking about."

"It's a coin. It looks like a coin. You probably threw it away. I left it on the couch, but it's not there anymore. What did you do with it?"

"I really didn't touch it because I was sick all day yesterday and never left my bed."

"AAGGHHH! Mom, DID YOU THROW IT AWAY?"

"No. It's probably still on the couch if you left it there yesterday."

"Okay."

Things Avery has said in the last 24 hours, just a taste

In response to, "Who is that talking in there when they're supposed to be sleeping?", Avery replied, "It's not me talking; it's just my foot talking to my other foot."

Sobbing, "I have to find my other Hello Kitty socks, but they're missing, and I really need them. Dang it!"

"Don't do that like I do it. Only I can do that. You can't do that."

"I have to stay up. I can't go to bed. I can only stay up and watch house shows with you." (Talking about HGTV.)

"Preston can't say the prayer. Only I can say the prayer. He's saying it! I'm supposed to say the prayer. He's still saying it! I have to say it. Heavenly Father...oh no! He's still saying it! Thank you that we can eat our breakfast. Preston can't say the prayer anymore! What?"

Does anyone else have kids who have prayer fights? I'm not really sure how to deal with those.

My Sisters and Brother Think They're Better Than Me

I should have started a blog a long time ago for all of my many fans. I feel sort of bad for anyone who wanted more information about me that they couldn't find out in the tabloids, especially since I have been under the radar for the last few years. Well, now here's your chance. I think I am the last one or possibly the next to last one in my family to start a blog, but that's not because I don't have lots to say as well as funny pictures of my kids. It's just that I didn't know it was this easy to set it up. (Who knew? I mean, who besides all the millions of people who already have blogs.)

You may be thinking at this very moment that this is what you have been waiting for. You may be thinking that you can't imagine how you could go so long without this all-important blog. Well, I am glad that I could please so many people. And now, I have written my first post on my first blog. Historic. Monumental. Sleepy.
